Kay was born December 8, 1953 to Paula and Bob Vinyard in Springfield, Missouri. She passed away suddenly Thursday, August 2, 2012.
As a child, Kay attended Elfindale Academy and Eugene Field School. As a high school student, she attended Glendale High School where she was outstanding scholastically and served on the newspaper, The Quill. She attended Drury College and was a member of Pi Beta Phi. She was also a member of the Drury Mirror as a feature writer.
Kay married Rokey Langsford in 1973 and moved to Jefferson City where she worked for the Public Service Commission. After Rokey’s death, she and her son, Robby, moved back to Springfield and she became a member of a newly formed consortium of high tech companies, Applied Digital Solutions. As the company expanded, she became Vice-President and relocated to Palm Beach, Florida. It was at this time she married Wayne Loveland.
Kay had many interests and accomplishments. She was a gifted photographer and versatile cook – Cajun being her specialty. She enjoyed music, traveling, and always welcomed a homeless pet. She had visited Italy in 2004 and spoke of the spiritual impact of visiting The Vatican. Kay saw good in all people and had a forgiving and loving heart.
She was preceded in death by her two husbands; her brother, Robert Paul; and her grandparents, Dr. Robert and Marie Vinyard and Paul and Sybil Lohmeyer.
She is survived by her parents; one sister, Jennifer Vinyard; and her son, Robby Langsford.
Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday August 9, 2012 in Herman H. Lohmeyer Chapel 500 E. Walnut Street with Dr. Rod Butterworth officiating. Burial will follow in Hazelwood Cemetery. Visitation will be 1 hour prior to the service.
