Kathy Elaine (Fagan) Hensley was born December 31, 1951, in Mountain Grove, MO. Proud parents were Freda Pearl (Graves) Fagan and Harold Avery Fagan. She departed this life peacefully Wednesday, November 10, 2021, at Mercy Hospital in Springfield, MO surrounded by her family after a long battle with scleroderma.
Kathy graduated from Norwood High School, Norwood, MO in 1969. Her daughter and granddaughters were the light of her life. She loved being with and spending time with her sisters and her friends as they went on adventures to various places.
Kathy is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Sherman Dale Hensley, one sister, Martha Jane Yates, a granddaughter, Shelby Elaine Allen, and her niece, Linda Darlene Dotson. Kathy is lovingly remembered by her daughter, Kristina Allen of West Plains, MO, two granddaughters, Kimberly Allen and Taylor Allen, her sisters, Kenna Neese of Houston. MO, Sue Durden and husband, Philip, of Norwood, MO, Lucinda Collins and her husband, Cecil, of Morrisville, MO, and Cherri Allen and her husband, Ben, of Springfield, MO, Two great grandsons, Cylus and Markai, several nieces and nephews and a host of other family and friends.
Kathy worked during the summer before her senior year as a carhop at Taylor’s in Springfield, MO. Following graduation, she went to work for Zenith in Springfield, MO. When they closed, she and Kristina moved to Tampa, FL, where she worked at other electronics places before returning to MO. She worked at Litton Industries for a short time then worked at Fordland Minimum Security Prison as a clerk. After leaving there she worked at Southwest Electronics in Kimberling City, MO. While there she met Dale and moved to Strafford to work for Omega II Electronics where she became purchaser and worked there for some 20 years until they closed. She then worked for Mercy Hospital in the business office until she retired.
Kathy and Dale’s hobby farm was a great joy to her. She loved her animals, especially her dogs. She and Dale raised Belted Galloway cattle, miniature horses, and sheep for a while. Their pond was home to ducks, geese, and fish they enjoyed feeding. They even had some chickens but finally gave up competing with the wildlife that preyed on them.
Celebration of Life will be at 2:00 pm, Saturday, June 11th, 2022 at Corinth Baptist Church 4706 Cottengim Road Macomb, Missouri 65702.
