Kathryn was born to Stanley and Katherine Cherry in Springfield on April 19, 1924 and passed away Monday, April 30, 2007 in Cox South Hospital in Springfield at the age of 83 years. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, William (Bill) Plowman, a brother, Raymond Cherry and a sister, Mary Scroggs. She is survived by her daughter, Mary Lou Datema, of Springfield, and a son, Scott and his wife, Julie, of St. Louis, Mo. She is also survived by five grandchildren, Dan, Ben, and Tim Datema and Tim's fianc�e, Jinny Dewitt; and Ryan and Lauren Plowman; she adored them all. Kathryn is also survived by sisters-in-law Marie Cherry and Jewell Morris, numerous nieces and nephews and their families who were very special to her also.

Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, May 4, 2007 in Springfield National Cemetery with Fr. Lewis Hejna officiating under the care of Herman H. Lohmeyer Funeral Home 500 E. Walnut St. Visitation will be from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home. The casket will be closed at all times.
