Kathleen Murney

Kathleen Theresa Murney, 62, died peacefully at the Lakeside Group Home in Springfield, Missouri, after a long battle with cancer. She was preceded in death by her father, Robert J. Murney, and her mother, Lucy E. Murney. Kathy is survived by her loving step mother Donna. Siblings Bob (Jane), Laura (Ron), Joanne, Patrick; Allison (Jim), Allan (Tracey), Andrew (Michelle) and Paula (Tony); Mary Beth and Charlie O'Reilly and their families, and many nieces and nephews. Kathy was born in Washington, D.C. on October 3, 1951. She has been a resident with the Arc of the Ozarks Lakeside Group Home for the last ten years. She will be remembered for her sweet nature in the face of unending challenges in her life, and for a wicked sense of humor. Special thanks to the Lakeside Group Home caretakers for their unfailing love and compassion, and to the nurses of Hospice Compassus for their caring service.
A private ceremony was held for Kathy at Herman Lohmeyer Funeral Home on Monday, November 18th. Kathy was laid to rest next to her mother at Hazelwood Cemetery.
