Karl Scholz, age 87, passed on August 11, 2021 after a short illness. He was born February 1, 1934 in St. Louis, MO to Margarete and Karl Scholz. He received a degree in accounting from Southwest Missouri State in 1956. He served many years in the Army National Guard. He worked for Zickel Flooring for over 35 years. He married Peggy Lou Robertson on February 10, 1962. He was a long-time member of the Sertoma Club where he served a term as president. He enjoyed volunteering his time with the many causes the Sertoma Club supports, especially the Boys and Girls Club.
Karl was an avid fisherman. He loved nothing better than floating on the water and sharing his passion with family and friends. His love for the St Louis Cardinals and the Green Bay Packers never wavered. Some of his best times were with his loving wife, Peggy, and brother, Paul at Busch Stadium watching the Cards, win or lose. He was an avid horse racing fan and took several trips a year to Hot Springs to watch races. Most of all Karl had a soft heart and deep caring love for his family.
Karl was preceded in death by his mother, Margarete; father, Karl; brother, Paul; nephew, Matthew; and by Hans and Trude Berger, his uncle and aunt. He will be forever missed by his five children, Rebecca of Springfield, Missouri and her daughter, Claire; Karl III (Kathy) of Willard, Missouri and their children, Simon, Ashley, Emily, Sarah, and Anna and grandson Oliver; Ann (Robert) of Tewksbury, New Jersey and their children Carson, and Phillip; Emily of Springfield, Missouri; and Michael (Ruojing) of Apple Valley, Minnesota and their children , Chelsea and Teddy; his brother John (Cynthia) Scholz of Springfield, Missouri; his sister, Susan (Frank) Carnahan of Springfield, Missouri; his brother in law, Dale (Rachel) of Ozark, Missouri, along with several nieces and nephews and numerous treasured friends.
Visitation will be Sunday, August 15th from 6-7pm followed by a prayer service at Herman Lohmeyer Home, 500 E. Walnut Street, Springfield, MO. Funeral mass will be held on Monday, August 16 at 10am at St Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, 2200 W Republic Rd, Springfield MO. Burial service to immediately follow at Resurrection Cemetery.
