Judith Mandl

Judith Anne Mandl joined her beloved husband Bernard on November 28th, 2020, 3 months after his death. She was surrounded by family at her bedside and survived by all her 4 children: John, Mike, Kelley and Bernie; her grandchildren: Sasha, Julia, Derek, Sophia and Uriel, as well as her great grandchild, Nation; her sister Peg; brothers Fred and Patrick.

Judy loved to roam the Mark Twain Forest and was self taught to find herbs, native plants, and could name any tree pointed out. She loved nature and spent a great deal of time gardening at their home. In the 70s, she and Bernie traveled to the Yucatan, Canada, Mexico, Hawaii, and Europe. Together, she and Bernie built 2 homes, where they spent many years. They were members of Queen of All Saints Church in Springfield, Mo.

Their roots were in Kansas City, where Judy grew up with her mom, Norma Wagner, her sister and brother. She had a special closeness to her grandparents who participated in raising her. Judy graduated from Lillis High School. Meeting there, Judy and Bernie fell in love over a period of time where American music was erupting on the scene, which led to dances and parties and quite naturally the 2 of them became partners in dance. Judy also loved tennis, softball and belonged to a league in 1976, the Liberty Belles. Through the decades their world revolved around their families, music, and fun. It comes with heartache that we say goodbye to both in such a short period of time.
