Jude F. Griesemer, 77 of Strafford passed away Tuesday evening at his daughter’s home in Columbia, Missouri following a five month battle with cancer.
Jude was born July 12, 1936 in Washington, Missouri to Henry and Josephine (Kalvelage) Griesemer. He was a member of St. Agnes Cathedral and played in the St. Agnes Men’s Golf League. Jude served in the U.S. Air force, was an amateur radio operator and was also known for his great grilled steaks which he prepared often for the Century Club. He also served on the Board of Directors for Community Financial Credit Union.
Jude is survived by his wife, Louise; his five children, Kathleen Griesemer and her husband Joe Erwin, Julia Griesemer, Erika Griesemer and her husband Chris Miller, Toby Griesemer and Bernadette Kipp and her husband Patrick; his grandchildren, Adam and Isaac Erwin; his siblings, Marcia Bramer, Regis Griesemer, Damian Griesemer, Dennis Griesemer, and Kevin Griesemer and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Funeral mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday January 25, 2014 in St. Agnes Cathedral with Fr. Mike McDevitt celebrant. Burial will follow in Resurrection Cemetery under the care of Herman H. Lohmeyer Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Friday in the church.
