Joyce A. Bentley, 63, Springfield Missouri, passed away Saturday, October 29, 2022 in Springfield Missouri in her home.
She was born October 25th, 1959, Kansas City Missouri, the daughter of Joe A. and Mary E. (Hart) Bentley. She attended Center High School, class of 1978.
Joyce worked at Bass Pro Shops/Tracker Marine for 36 years. While working for Bass Pro Shops, she worked in Outdoor World Rod & Reel Repair as an office manager and then moved to Tracker Marine to work in accounts payable. In April 2021, she began working for Rose Metal Products in accounts payable.
In 1991 she took her first quilt class that started her passion for hand quilting/piecing that lasted the rest of her life. Joyce expanded her sewing craft to homemade gifts she loved to share with family and friends. During the Springfield Fair in 2019, she brought home second place in 01-appliqued, hand quilted class for her Sunbonnet Sue quilt. She enjoyed the outdoors while camping, hiking, and going to the lake with friends and family. Her enthusiasm for color extended to the array of flowers she loved to plant at her home.
She was preceded in death by her parents Joe and Mary.
Joyce is survived by her brother, Phillip (Lynn Mitchell) Bentley; two sisters, Michelle Bentley and Paulette (Ken) Herrera; one nephew, Nathan McCarty; three nieces, Brittney (Jordan) Hembree, Jessica and Lauren Herrera; one great-nephew Brycen Hembree; two great-nieces, Maylee and Kennedi Hembree, and other extended family and friends.
