Jj Young

JJ Young, 41, of Springfield, Mo, passed away March 5, 2024.

Josh was known for his caring and charismatic nature, was a social individual who treasured his family deeply. He had a passion for welding. He also loved working on cars, and barbecuing. His infectious laughter and jovial personality made him a friend to all, treating everyone he met like family.

In his spare time JJ enjoyed engaging in his hobbies, which included welding and fabrication which he went to MIT for. Working on his Camaro, riding his Harley, hiking and spending time with family and friends.

Josh, a proud Army veteran served his country with honor and dedication in Afghanistan in the 173rd Airborne. After being wounded in combat, he was awarded the National Defense Service Medal and the Army Service Ribbon. JJ also suffered from war related PTSD which factored in his death.

He is survived by his wife Kimberly, sons Cyrus and Aries, his brothers Daniel and Daeghan, and sister-in-law LeNae, and his parents James and Ann.

JJ's legacy of love, laughter and camaraderie will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Graveside service will be at 10am on March 18th 2024 at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery 5201 S. Southwood Rd, Springfield, Mo 65804
