Josephine "Jo" Svendsen, 101 of Brighton passed away in her home Tuesday, Feb. 3, 2009.
Jo was one of 10 children and was born Nov. 10, 1907 in Milwaukee, Wisc. to George and Elizabeth Mason. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and was a volunteer worker for Crosslines for many years.
She is survived by her son, Michael Svendsen and his wife Barbara of Brighton; four grandchildren, Greg Svendsen of Morrisville, MO, Gary Svendsen and his wife Kris of Morrisville, MO, Angela Freeman and her husband, Mark of Overland Park, KS, and Doug Svendsen and his wife Lori of Bolivar, MO; seven great grandchildren; and her sister, Helen Zinser of Lubbock, TX.
Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 6, 2009 in Resurrection Cemetery with Fr. Denis Dougherty, OSB officiating under the care of Herman H. Lohmeyer Funeral Home 500 E. Walnut St.
Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday with a prayer service starting at 7 p.m. all in the funeral home.
