Joseph Gerdes

Joseph Gerdes aka Junkyard of Springfield, Mo passed away on August 2, 2023 at the age of 62.

He will be greatly missed for his sense of humour. He was always the life of the party. Even though a failing heart took him away from the world, his loving heart left a beacon of light for all the community.

Joseph was survived by his son Joe Gerdes, wife and 4 children of Lebanon, Mo, son Cris Gerdes, wife and child of Lebanon, Mo, daughter Louann Simpson and children of Springfield, Mo, stepdaughter Nicole Lewis, wife and children, sister Paula Taylor of Mt. Vernon, Mo, sister Pamala Barber of California and several neices, nephews, other family and friends.

Joseph was preceded in death by his mother Joan Gerdes and sister Linda Gerdes.

Special thanks to Pastor Dave at Praise Fellowship where on September 9th, 2023 at 1pm a Memorial Service will be held. Local arrangements were under the care and direction of Herman H. Lohmeyer Funeral Home in Springfield.

I'd like to leave an echo whispering softly down the ways of happy times and laughing times and bright and sunny days. I'd like the tears of those who grieve, to dry before the sun; Of happy memories that I leave when life is done.
