John Wensel, Jr.

J. Douglas Wensel, Jr, 51, Springfield, MO, passed away the morning of September 24th, 2011, in St. John’s Hospital. He was born in Illinois to John “Jack” D. Wensel, Sr. and Carole Don Wensel, he grew up in Sullivan, MO. He graduated from St. John’s School of Nursing in 1981 and there he worked in the recovery room. Doug also worked at Arnold Eyecare to Mattax Neu Prater. He enjoyed his time working at the Kitchen Clinic. Doug enjoyed golfing, camping, and working with his son in Boy Scouts. Doug himself was an Eagle Scout.
He is survived by his children Elizabeth R. Robins (and her husband Mitch), Benjamin John Wensel and their mother Shelly Harper; his parents; his sisters Becky Wensel Killian and Emily Wensel Weiskopf.
A memorial service will be held Monday, September 26th, at 6pm in Herman H. Lohmeyer Funeral Home, 500 E. Walnut. No visitation planned.
