Never caught without a firm, “John Long” handshake and a good laugh, he was a light to all who crossed his path.
John married Trudy Hope Thomson on August 2nd, 1969 in Des Moines, Iowa at Windsor United Methodist Church, and she remained the love of his life until his last breath. All who knew John were keenly aware that his love for T-Hope was second to none. His highest calling was to be fully devoted to his marriage and to his children and grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Peggy Long.
