John Betts

August 27, 1941 — June 2, 2019

John Betts

John E. Betts was born in Omaha, Nebraska on August 27, 1941. He was welcomed into Heaven on June 2, 2019.

John’s favorite season was football season. His love for the game began with the Nebraska Cornhuskers; you could always find him sporting something Husker’s-related. Lady Bears basketball & fishing with his family were other interests. John’s real passion was his involvement in his church, Wesley United Methodist. A member since 1977, John loved his Sunday school class, his small group and enjoyed volunteering in the church’s garden. One of his fondest memories was his trip with the church to Israel.

John’s heart was his family. He was married to his loving wife of 57 years, Sandra (Lunbom) Betts. He was a beloved father to Lisa Williams and husband Shawn, Newport Coast, CA, Lora Betts, Kansas City, Kansas, and John C. Betts and wife Angela, Lake Lotawana, MO. He was a dear grandfather to Zachary Williams, Seattle, WA, Blake Williams, Austin, TX, Reese Betts, Lake Lotawana, MO and Caylee Betts, Lake Lotawana, MO.

A memorial service will be held at 11 am Saturday June 8, 2019 in Wesley United Methodist Church 922 W.
