Joel Coberly

Mr. Joel McArthur Coberly, Age 91, departed this life Thursday, February 4, 2010 at Mercy Villa. He was born May 4, 1918 at Ft. Flagler, WA to Fred Joseph and Rose Ellen (Riley) Coberly. Joel was a member of the National Guard. He was a skilled carpenter, an avid gardener and he enjoyed reading books. He was a member of the United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners of America throughout his work career as a carpenter. Joel was united in marriage to Minnie Faye (Solomon) on November 5, 1939 at Springfield, MO. She preceded him in death on June 10, 1997. Joel was also preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Ella Hoggard and Ruth Barrow. Survivors include his daughter Carol Williams, two sons, David (and his wife Kathie) and Dennis (and his wife Jean Ann) Coberly, all of Springfield, MO and six grandchildren, Mark Williams, Lori (Coberly) Price, Amy (Coberly) Cardwell, Jennifer, Adam and Heather (Coberly) Miller and eight great grandchildren. Services will be held at 1:30 PM Saturday, February 13, 2010 in Herman Lohmeyer Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Fred D. Royer officiating. If desired, memorial contributions may be made to the charity of choice in lieu of flowers.
