Joe Oliver Johnson, 75, Springfield, passed away Saturday August 1, 2009 in his home. He has been in bad health for the past several years.
He was born March 15, 1934 in Ash Grove, Missouri to Lloyd Mack and Wilma Fern (Corbin) Johnson. Joe graduated from Central High School in 1951. He was the catering chef extraordinaire for St. John's Hospital for 31 1/2 years.
Joe is survived by his wife of 55 plus years, Daisy Johnson; his daughter, Julia Houston; his son, Lowell Johnson; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Memorial Mass will be at 2:00 p.m. Thursday August 6, 2009 in St. Joseph Catholic Church. with Father Robert Landewe celebrant. Burial will be at a later date in John's Chapel.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. John's Hospice 1378 E. Republic Rd. Springfield, MO 65804.
