Jo Ann Cahill King Bevier

JoAnn BeVier, beloved wife of the late Wm. (Bill) BeVier, went to her heavenly home December 5, 2013. Born in St. Louis, Mo, August 13, 1927, she moved to Springfield at the age of 3 after the death of her mother, and was later adopted by her maternal grandfather, Wm. Chas. King.
JoAnn graduated from Central High School in 1945, attended Drury College, and married her childhood sweetheart Wm. A. BeVier August 11, 1949. They commenced a lifetime of service and Christian ministry in Texas, Michigan, and Minnesota, until returning to Springfield in 2004.
Work experience included O’Reilly Hospital, Drury College (MO), Dallas Christian Grade School (TX), SEND International, Highland Park Baptist Church, Detroit Bible College (MI), and Northwestern College, St. Paul (MN), JoAnn’s service included teaching children’s churches, and Child Evangelism Fellowship. At church she served in hospitality, music, and led women’s Bible studies. Her outreach also included the worldwide Religion Analysis Service.
JoAnn leaves behind to cherish her memory, two daughters: Cindy and husband Dr. Randy Meredith of Springfield, Shirley Ann and husband James Hogness of Fargo, ND; five grand-children: Bill, Tara, Bryan Meredith, Jordan and Joanna Hogness, six great-grandchildren; and in laws, Richard and Patricia BeVier of Memphis, TN, nieces, cousins and friends near and far.
Visitation will be Tuesday, December 10, 2013, from 11 am to 1 pm with funeral services at 1:00 pm. at Lohmeyer Funeral Home, 500 E. Walnut St, Springfield, MO. Burial will be at Missouri Veterans Cemetery.
