Jerry Wayne Long, 53, of Springfield, MO. passed away in his home, after battling with health issues.
He was born in Norfolk, Virginia, to Carroll and Rita (Lake) Long.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, and one brother, Joey Long.
He is survived by his wife, Beth Ann Long; two sons, T.J. Jones, Jason Jones and his fiancé, Summer Schreiber; one granddaughter, Faith Smith, and one grandson, Zachary Rogers; and his sister, Phyllis Lasandro and her husband, Joe; his niece, Jessica Lasandro and his great niece. Alana.
Jerry finished out his last days in the trucking industry, driving for Prime Trucking and CTI. In the past Jerry worked as a deck hand on the tugboats up and down the Mississippi River, and as a merchant marine in the oil business, in Iraq.
To all who knew him, he loved to be the center of attention, and always high spirited.
He loved being on the water, enjoying his time of boating and fishing, and a true passion for the sea.
A memorial service will be announced at a later date.
