Jerry Don Endsley of Highlandville Missouri passed away at his home on August 28th, 2024, at the age of 82. Jerry was born August 17th, 1942, in Chickasha, Oklahoma, the son of Arthur and Jessie (Meadows) Endsley. He is survived by his loving wife Charolette (Coleman) Endsley. They were married June 4th, 1994, in Huntsville Arkansas and they had 30 wonderful years together.
He did not graduate from High School but did not let that deter him from going on to graduate with an Associate of Arts degree from College of the Redwoods and a Bachelor of Arts degree from California State University, Fresno. He went on to complete his Master of Education at Arkansas Tech University, graduating in 1981.
Jerry was a gentle and caring man who was loved by many. He never met a stranger as he would strike up a conversation with anyone he ran into, young and old alike. He would often say his goal for each day was to make someone smile.
He was a retired High School Teacher and Principal and loved his time in the classroom. He loved and cared for his students and was always available to talk about any concerns they had. His door to his classroom was always open. He loved reconnecting on Facebook with former students. After retirement he enjoyed hobbies of travel, photography and his small cattle farm.
He is survived by his wife, Charolette Endsley, a son and daughter in law, David and Kay Endsley of Lakeland, Florida, a daughter and son in law, Christina and Mark Evants of Russellville Arkansas and one brother and sister-in-law, Odell and Lori Endsley of Fresno California and his sisters in law, Doreen, Juanita and Beth Endsley. He has several grandchildren, two great granddaughters and nieces and nephews whom he dearly loved.
A celebration of his life is planned for a future date and will be carried out at Big Sandy Cemetery outside of Huntsville, Arkansas.
IF DEATH SHOULD SUMMON ME WITH OUTSTRETCHED HAND AND WHISPER SOFTLY OF AN UNKNOWN LAND, I SHALL NOT BE AFRAID TO GO, FOR THROUGH THE PATH I DO NOT KNOW, WITHOUT FEAR, FOR HE WHO SAFELY BROUGHT ME HERE WILL ALSO TAKE ME SAFELY BACK, AND THOUGH IN MANY THINGS I LACK, HE WILL NOT LET ME GO ALONE INTO THE VALLEY THAT'S UNKNOWN, SO I REACH OUT AND TAKE DEATH'S HAND AND JOURNEY TO THE PROMISED LAND.
Romans 8:38 NLT.
And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God’s love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow—not even the power of hell can separate us from God’s love.
