Jeremiah Hanley

Jeremiah Hanley, a cherished individual known for his kind, loving and witty spirit, left us for Heaven on April 8, 2024. Born on June 7, 1934 in St. Louis, MO, he lived a life filled with tremendous passion and service towards others. His departure leaves an unfillable void in our lives, yet we find comfort in the loving memories we share.

Jeremiah married Venda Hanley in 1955, and they began their ministry life together, pastoring several churches and as traveling evangelists. Jeremiah was a fantastic steel guitar player and enthusiast. He loved reaching people for Christ, not only through preaching the word of God but he loved using his love of the steel guitar to invite friends into their home and have music jams and snacks. This was their faithful and effective mission of reaching and loving on people, in which they were able to do until just a few years before their passing.

Jeremiah was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Irene Hanley, his sister Patricia Freeburg and his in­-laws Gerald and Alverda Hager and his great granddaughter Aya.

He is survived by his children: Jerry Hanley of Lebanon, TN, Janeece Carter of Springfield, MO, David Hanley of Los Angeles, CA and Kim Hanley of Springfield MO; his grandchildren: Tisha Hanley, Ty Carter, Josh Carter and Brittney Curtis; his great-grandchildren: Addison, Cruz, Aria, Eden, Carson and Norah Jane.

A celebration of life service will be held at 10:00 am on September 21, 2024, at Danforth Cemetery in Springfield, MO. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Seasons Hospice in remembrance of Jeremiah Hanley. Please send to: 1831 W Melville Rd, Springfield, MO 65803.
