Jeanne Ann Schooler passed away on March 18, 2014 in Springfield, MO after a courageous 6 year battle with breast cancer. She was born a twin on February 20, 1948 in Brownwood, Texas to Benjamin Morris Schooler and Wilda Potter Schooler.
Jeanne grew up in Rolla, Missouri. She graduated from Rolla High School in Rolla, Missouri in 1966. After high school, she went on to earn a Masters in Education from OSU, Stillwater, OK. After teaching for a brief time she moved to Stuart, Florida to work for Peter Makris’ restaurant chains, opening and staffing new locations throughout the states. She later owned her own restaurant, La Fonda, in Stuart, Florida. For the past 20 years, she worked for Aramark Corp. in Springfield, Missouri as an assistant food service director.
Jeanne was preceded in death by her parents.
She is survived by her twin sister, Joyce (Charles) Hayes, and brothers, Bill (Bruce) Schooler and David (Jayne) Schooler. Her extended family includes nieces and nephews; Amy Jella York, Christopher Jella, Kristy and Ray Schooler, Debra & Bobby Jo Schooler.
She enjoyed rescuing animals in need, golf and watersports.
In lieu of a memorial service or flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to Three Rivers Hospice, 631 N. Spring Park Blvd. Mount Vernon, MO 65712, C.A.R.E. animal rescue, 2012 W. Garton Rd. Ozark, Mo 65721 or to the charity of your choice.
The family wishes to thank those who took such good care of her: Three Rivers Hospice and The Maples Rehabilitation Center for their loving care. Special thanks to Rody Jackovich, Waunita Campbell and Vergie Parsley, who cared for her in the comfort of her home.
