Jeanette Vernor

Jeanette E. Vernor, age 67, of Springfield, Missouri passed away at 4:03 pm on August 4, 2024.

Jeanette was born on May 27, 1957, in St. Louis, Missouri to Leroy Paul Eldridge Jr. and Barbara Jean Briones, where she attended McKinley High School.

On August 4, 2024, as her family and friends stood by her side holding her hands, kissing her forehead and cheeks, crying and smiling with her listening to Al Green’s “Tired of Being Alone”, bopping her head as she slowly slipped away from us. The Lord above took her home.

Jeanette was a dedicated woman, mother, grandma, sister, aunt, and friend. She was all about her family. She raised three children. Jeanette did some industrial work until she started babysitting so she was able to stay at home and be the stay-at-home wife and mother she wanted to be. Spending time with her children and others that she shared her life, going to garage sales, and cooking were some of the things she loved to do. But her most favorite thing of all was being out on the 18-wheeler with her husband.

Jeanette was preceded in death by her parents, Leroy P. Eldridge Jr. and Barbara J. Briones; the love of her life, William R. Vernor Sr.; two sisters, Tina L. Welch and Cynthia L. Marra; a brother, Micheal P. Eldridge; an uncle, Timothy Rickard, and stepdaughter, Raquel M. Vernor.

Jeanette is survived by her daughter, Jackie Courtney, two sons, Joshua Eldridge (Jennifer) and William R. Vernor Jr.; two sisters, Mary Diana Jimenez and Anjela P. Briones; one brother, Valentin P. Briones; grandchildren, Donald, Terrence Jr., Tre'Von, Nastazha, Teah (Alex), Dajeiona, Dearriean, Nevaeh, Tayliana, Kaniya, Camora, William III, Yolic, Davina, and Wrytel; four great grandchildren, Ta'raya, Zariah, Zaeem, and Zavi, and a good friend Lynette Smiles.
