James L. Wooten, 76, of Springfield, Missouri died peacefully at Glendale Gardens on Saturday, November 17, 2018.
He was born in Ottawa, Illinois on January 8, 1942 to Mary (Guidotti) Wooten and James Wooten, Sr. He attended St. Bede’s Academy and graduated from Marquette High School. He is preceded in death by both of his parents and his sister Barbara Kroeger of Albany, New York.
Jim was a lifelong employee of TWA and Eastern Airlines. He loved his family and friends. He had a quick wit, warm sense of humor, a generous heart, and was an active fundraiser for the AIDS Project of the Ozarks. He will be missed by his many friends in the Springfield area.
A funeral mass will be celebrated on December 11, 2018 at 10:00 am in the Chapel at St. Agnes Cathedral in Springfield followed by interment at Resurrection Cemetery.
A very special thank you to the Staff of Glendale Gardens and Regional Hospice who lovingly cared for Jim and Sr. Elizabeth Ann Weiler who visited Jim regularly from St. Agnes Parish. Your kindness and thoughtfulness is deeply appreciated.
