SPRINGFIELD, MO — James Wesley Stall, 77, of Springfield, Missouri, passed away peacefully at his home on Sunday, April 6, 2025.

James was born July 23, 1947 in Big Spring, Texas to Louis and Dorothy Stall. He has been a resident of Springfield, Missouri for the past 45 years. He was a skilled precision machinist and entrepreneur who founded R&A Machine from his farmhouse garage in 1977. Through dedication and craftsmanship, he grew his business and eventually relocated to Springfield, Missouri, where he machined parts for companies such as Lily Tulip, Sweetheart Cup Company, and Polar Tank.

Jim met the love of his life, Barbara Edwards, in Torrance, California, in 1965. Jim and Barbara married January 22, 1966. Their union of 59 years was blessed with five children: Ronald (Annette) Stall of Aurora, Angela (David) Snoozy of Springfield, Rebekah Idalou of Springfield (deceased), Adina (Taylor) Perkins of Springfield, and Ryan (Christina) Stall of Springfield.

His legacy continues through his 15 grandchildren: Andrew, Eli, Savannah, Ian, Macie, Benjamin, Josiah, Jacob, Calliope, Luke, Bailey, Olivia, Marissa, Owen, and Amelia, as well as six great-grandchildren: Violet, Sawyer, Tinsley, Coltin, Braylin, and Jaxon.

James found his greatest joy in spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren who were the light of his life. He was also passionate about automobiles, particularly antique cars, and took great pride in restoring his 1954 Chevy Bel Air. He enjoyed watching classic car events when they came to town. A true animal lover, James found special companionship with his beloved cat, Edward, who brought him much comfort.

He was a member at Cherry Street Baptist Church where he ushered. He also mentored several students who were interested in learning the trade of precision machining while attending Baptist Bible College.
