James Hodge

James Michael “Mike” Hodge, 68, of Springfield, passed peacefully from this life Sunday, April 21st, 2024 in his home.

Mike was born March 21st, 1956 in Savannah, GA to Col. James L and Elizabeth A (Ballard) Hodge. He graduated from Altus (OK) High School and received a Horticulture degree from Missouri State University. He went on to serve as Superintendent of Grounds at Missouri State University prior to running his own landscaping and lawn care business. He raised two children with Carole (Hoel) Hodge. Mike’s greatest joy in life was spending time with his beloved sons.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by his twin sister, Kimberle Allen, Winter Park, FL; little sister, Kristen Hoyt, Oklahoma City, OK; his sons, Christopher Hodge, Springfield, MO and Cody Hodge, St. Charles, MO; his precious granddaughter Natalie Hodge; and several nieces and nephews.

A memorial visitation for family and friends will be held Friday, May 3rd, from 5:00-7:00pm at Herman H. Lohmeyer Funeral Home.
