James Brake

James David Brake, Sr., 69, Springfield, passed away on March 9, 2015 in his home.

James was born on February 25, 1946 in Springfield, Missouri to Earnest and Bessie (McKinney) Brake.

He was preceded in death by his father, Earnest Brake; mother, Bessie VanZandt; step-father, James VanZandt; daughters Regina Brake and Christina Walker; and grandson, Cody Brake.

James is survived by his children, James “Davy” Brake, Jr. (Kim), Jody Brake, Tonya Wilson (Bruce), and Renee Brake; grandchildren, Zachary, Keltzy, Krystle, Brandon, Haylie (Dustin), Gage, Kylie, Nick, Lance, Bryce, Bryan, Joey, and Jerika; great-grandchildren, Blaidyn, Josey, Kycin, Daltyn; siblings, Earnest “Dean” Brake (Theda), Donald Brake (Helen), Betty Lindsay, Charles VanZandt, Jr. (Sara), Jean Gully (Ron), Vickie Beachly (Gene), and Bill VanZandt (Tina); and many other family members and friends.

Memorial graveside services will be at 1:00 p.m. Monday March 16, 2015 in Missouri Veterans Cemetery under the care of Herman H. Lohmeyer Funeral Home, 500 E. Walnut St.
