Jairus Robinson

Jairus Q Robinson affectionately known as “JAZZY”, was born May 11, 1960 in Springfield Mo to loving parents Paul and Betty Robinson. Being apart of a military family, Jairus was privileged to obtain his elementary school education both nationally and internationally. His father retired from the military and moved the family back to Springfield, Mo where Jairus graduated from Parkview Senior High School.

In early years Jairus’ family referred to him as “JAZZY” because he had a big heart, dazzling personality, and was blessed with many athletic abilities. Jairus excelled in various sports such as track, basketball, and varsity football. He wore the #32 and was commonly referred to as OJ in the local newspaper. Jairus was pursuing a career in Pro football when tragedy struck a few days after he graduated High School. Jairus got shot three times attempting to break up a fight between a friend and a stranger. Jairus recovered, but the bullets had to remain in his body rendering him unable to pursue his dream career in football or following his fathers’ footsteps in the military.

Though Jairus was a fighter in life this experience caused him to gain a great respect for God. Through the prayers and support of his family he was blessed to pursue a career in auto mechanics becoming a lead supervisor at Aarons Transmission of Springfield Missouri. Jairus was married to Sybil (Smith) Robinson and during this union, they were blessed with two sons, Darshay and LaShawn Robinson, in whom he loved with his Whole Heart. Jairus was extremely family oriented. He enjoyed barbequing with his father and brothers as well as spending quality time with his family and friends. In recent years, tragedy struck again leaving Jairus physically and mentally impaired. But, by the Grace of God he transitioned peacefully at the home of his brother Darren Robinson- with whom he had a special life long bond with. In Jairus’ final days, he was blessed to develop his personal relationship with God. The Bible says- Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but God delivers us out of them all-Psalms 34:19.

Jairus was proceeded in Death by his parents Paul and Betty Robinson. He leaves to cherish his memory his Two Sons: Darshay Robinson – Indiana, LaShawn Robinson- Illinois.
