Mr. Jack Hoyt Whitten, 83, Springfield passed away Monday July 19, 2004 in St. John's Hospital.
Jack was born June 9, 1921 in Sweetwater, TX to Henry and Carrye Mae (Lawson) Whitten. He retired from the U.S. Air Force as a Major.
He is survived by his daughter, Mary Ann Whitten; his sister, Clarene Helgeson; his nephew, Richard Helgeson; and 3 great nephews.
Graveside services with military honors will be at 11 a.m. today, July 23, 2004 in Springfield National Cemetery with Msgr. John Westhues officiating under the care of Herman H. Lohmeyer Funeral Home.
