Irma Delzell

Irma Faye (Rhoten) Delzell, 70, of Springfield, Missouri, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, August 11, 2021.

She was born in Springfield, Missouri on June 17, 1951 to Carl V. Rhoten and Claranda (Stokes) Rhoten. She attended Hillcrest High School and after graduation she attended cosmetology school and Draughon Business College.

She was united in marriage to William David Delzell. They had two children, Lavonna and Eric. She worked at various places over the years, Cox Medical Center in various capacities, John Lewis Law Firm as a transcriptionist, Sears Roebuck & Company in the auditing office, and Walmart as a customer service manager.

She was raised in church and saved at an early age. She got away from the Lord for a time and rededicated her life to Him. She was involved in various ministries and enjoyed blessing others. She ministered through her piano playing, singing, nursing home ministry, and girls ministries. She had a desire to help out smaller churches in any capacity she could. She loved the Lord with all her heart and the most important thing to her was seeing her family and friends in Heaven.

She enjoyed playing the piano, singing, making music with friends, playing various games, watching sports, doing crafts, reading her Bible, and spending time with her family, especially around the holidays. She was a devoted and loving wife to her husband, David, and an amazing mother to Lavonna and Eric.

Irma leaves behind her husband of 38 years, David; daughter, Lavonna (Kent) Franklin of Republic, Missouri; son, Eric Delzell of Nixa, Missouri; her sister,Marie (Danny) McMurray of Battlefield, Missouri; sister-in-law, Ernestine Rhoten, of Springfield, Missouri; grandchildren, Ashley Franklin of Sparta, Missouri and Megan (Shane) Kohler of Kansas City, Kansas; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. A special thanks to Dane Wallace for her love and support.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Carl V. Rhoten & Claranda (Stokes) (Rhoten) (Shore) Hudson; two step fathers, Raymond Shore and Glenn Hudson; and her brother, Carl D. Rhoten.
