Idonna Dodson

Idonna (McMillian) Dodson died on Saturday, April 1, 2006, following a 3 1/2 year long battle with Inflammatory Breast Cancer.

Idonna Belle McMillian was born August 14, 1939 to Otto and Eva McMillian in Springfield, Missouri. Idonna married Jerry R. Dodson on December 15, 1956.

Idonna is survived by her husband Jerry, her beloved son Ricky, of the home, and her two daughters, Karyn Weter and her husband Kevin, and Kimberly Nelson. Idonna's precious grandchildren, Karyn's children, Kaylea, Shelby, Tatum and Hannah; Kimberly's children, Emily, Nicholas and Libby. Also surviving are Idonna's siblings, Robert McMillian, Joe McMillian and his wife Barbara, Shirley Lindsey and her husband Bob, and Pauline Eddington and her husband Bob and her nieces, Debbie Lindsey and Brenda Jordan and her nephews, David Lindsey and Michael Cagle.

Idonna dedicated her life to caring for her family. She was happiest when spending time with her grandchildren. No one does birthdays, Christmas or Easter like Grandma.

Funeral Mass will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 4, 2006 in St. Agnes Cathedral with Fr. Mike McDevitt and Msgr. John Westhues concelebrants. Burial will follow in the Missouri Veterans Cemetery under the care of Herman H. Lohmeyer Funeral Home.
