Howard Elliott, 87, Springfield, passed away at 6:10 a.m. Friday, Dec. 9, 2005 in ManorCare Health Services.
He was born October 9, 1918 in Aurora, Missouri to Wilburn and Clara (McDonald) Elliott. Mr. Elliott was graduated from Southwest Missouri State University in 1942. He was a Major in the USMC during World War II and later was a member of the Marine Reserves. Mr. Elliott was also a member of Messiah Lutheran Church.
Mr. Elliott is survived by his wife, Margaret L. Elliott; his two daughters, Libby Moore and her husband Dennis of St. Louis, and Laura Jane Abbott of Lake St. Louis, five grandchildren, a sister and a brother.
Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 13, 2005 in Messiah Lutheran Church with Pastor Dan Friberg officiating. Memorial graveside with military honors will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the Springfield National Cemetery under the care of Herman H. Lohmeyer Funeral Home, 500 E. Walnut.
