Hildegard B. Smith 92 – Born in Ujest, Germany, January 21, 1923 to Paul Stiller and Marta (Kudera) Stiller. In Germany,
Hildegard served as a paymaster for the Deutches Railway. Hildegard was married to the love of her life, Ervin J. Smith at St. Elizabeth’s Catholic Church
in Augsburg, Germany on July 5, 1947.
They then made their home in the Kansas City, Missouri area.
After coming to the United States Hildegard was employed as a savings officer for First Federal Savings Bank of Kansas City.
In 1982 Hildegard and Ervin retired and moved to Springfield, Missouri to spend time together.
Hildegard is proceeded in death by her husband Ervin, her parents, two sisters Dorthea and Margarete (Furhmann)
and two brothers, Dr. Josef Stiller and Dr. Hans Stiller.
She is survived by a number of nieces and nephews and many many friends.
Funeral mass will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, April 9, 2015 in St. Agnes Cathedral under the care of Herman H. Lohmeyer Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 10:30 to 11:00 a.m.before service time in the church. Burial will follow in Missouri Veterans Cemetery, Springfield.
