Helen Sillavan

Helen Doris Sillavan, age 80, passed away peacefully in Cox South Hospital in Springfield, Missouri on Thursday, December 17, 2020.

She was born to Henry B. and Opal Marie (Webber) King in Highland, Arkansas on March 31, 1940. She married Jim Sillavan in 1957 and they raised 4 children together. They enjoyed living in many cities and states during the years of their marriage. They were later divorced. After retiring in 2011, Doris settled in Nixa, Missouri to be closer to her family.

Doris is preceded in death by her parents, and step parents, Jim Sillavan and two brothers, Jim E. King and Larry L. Reel.

She is survived by sons David Sillavan (Joy), Darrell Sillavan (Shawna), Joel Sillavan (Jackie) and daughter Sheila Peebles (Ed), 15 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, one brother Charles L. Reel (Deborah Ann) and stepsisters Ima Semmler and Wilma Bowden, along with numerous nieces, nephews and cousins and many life-long friends.

While living in Mineral Springs, Arkansas she was owner/operator of Jimbo's, a family diner. After leaving the restaurant business, she served as the store manager for SAS shoes in Branson, Missouri for several years. Her greatest pleasure was spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Family was what she loved most in life and was happiest when spending time with them. She never thought a visit with family lasted long enough! She will be dearly missed by her family and all who knew and loved her.

Family will gather for a time of remembrance when it is safe to do so.
