Helen Mae was at last reunited with her life long love and husband, Jack E. Owens, in heaven on Sunday morning.

Helen was born September 13, 1920 Helen Mae Batey in Joplin, MO. She was raised in Springfield by her mother Eva (Green) Collins. She graduated from Central High School in 1938 and wed her husband of 58 years in 1941 in Jackson, MS. He preceded her in death in 1999. They had two children, Stephen Thomas and Jacque Sue, who they raised on Fort Street in Springfield, across from the Temple Baptist Church. Both were heavily involved with the church where Helen helped build the church library. She worked in the library until just a couple of years ago when her eyesight began to fail. She had a deep love of crossword puzzles, books and learning, as well as bird watching and gardening.

She is survived by her two children Stephen Owens and wife Marilyn, of Clever, Mo. Jacque Sue Lake and husband David, of Longview, WA. And grandchildren Michael Owens and wife Theresa, of Rogersville, MO., Carrie Blunk and husband Marty, of Longview, WA. and her great-granddaughter Nicque Britten (daughter of Carrie), also of Longview, WA. and a step grandson David Lake and wife Bonnie, of Scottsdale AZ, as well as many cousins, nephews, nieces and wonderful friends.

A small graveside service will be held Wednesday 11:00 a.m.at Maple Park cemetery under the care of Herman H. Lohmeyer Funeral Home. No visitation is planned Memorial contributions may be made in lieu of flowers to the Temple Baptist Church Library Fund @ 845 S. Fort � Springfield, Mo 65806, or Regional Hospice.

She will be missed here on earth but awaits the loving arms of her husband, mother, and the Lord in heaven. God bless and God speed Helen, we love you very much and will miss your loving ways and sense of humor.
