Helen Kelly

Helen Illeen Brewer Kelly, age 85, of Springfield, Mo., died Tuesday, August 5, 2008, in her home. Mrs. Kelly was born in Webster County, Mo., on April 25, 1923. She was the daughter of Emery and Alice (Poynor) Brewer. Mrs. Kelly was baptized at an early age in Marshfield Baptist Church. On June 14, 1941, she married A. Keith Kelly in Springfield, Mo., and he survives. Mrs. Kelly worked at Crank's Drug Store and Lily Tulip for many years. She was preceded in death by one son, Gary Kelly; two brothers, Jack and Jim Brewer; and a sister, Dixie Jean Brewer. She is survived by one daughter, Mary Lou Lakin of Pierce City, Mo.; one son, Allen Kelly of Springfield, Mo.; one sister, Deloris Wise of Republic, Mo.; nine grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. Arrangements are being handled by Lakin Funeral Home in Pierce City, Mo., where the family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. on Saturday, August 9, 2008. The family will also receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. on Sunday, August 10, 2008, in Herman H. Lohmeyer Funeral Home, Springfield, Mo. Funeral services will be at 11:30 a.m. Monday, August 11, 2008, in Herman H. Lohmeyer Funeral Home, with Rev. Lendall Morris officiating. Burial will follow in Missouri Veteran's Cemetery, Springfield, Mo.
