Helen Doty

Helen Mary Doty 88, years old, passed away Saturday, October 31, 2015 in Springfield, Mo. She was born on December 6, 1926 to Martha and Nay Galbraith in Diggins, Mo. When she was three years old, she moved to Seymour, MO with her parents, sister and brother to a farm north of Seymour near the James River. Mother graduated from Seymour High School and attended Draughn's Business College. Mother was preceded in death by her parents, sister Susie Schoen, brother Wayne Galbraith (Emogene), husband Richard Doty and her well-loved little dog and companion Lucy Lu. She is survived by her daughter Judy Smith (Lonney), son Frank Burch (Sandra), grandchildren Jason Burch and Andrea Burton (Carl) and great granddaughter Charlotte, nephew Tom Galbraith and "middle kid" Steve Bisher (Marsha). We are honoring our Mother's wishes by not having a funeral or visitation. Instead of attending a funeral, she asks everyone to take the time to count your blessings and tell your loved ones you love them and give them a hug each day. Mother, was a member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church. In lieu of flowers or plants you are asked to please make a donation in Mother's name to St. Joseph Academy, 515 W. Scott, Springfield, Mo 65802. Mother spent 18 happy years as St. Joseph's School Secretary, or the Mercy Hospice, 1570 W. Battlefield, Springfield, Mo 65807.
