Harriet Dorothy "DeDe" Bell, 87, Springfield, passed away Monday January 11, 2010 in her home.
She was born June 13, 1922 in Belin, New Hampshire to Emery and Antoinette (Gagnon) St. Hilaire.
To know her is to love her. DeDe was always putting others before herself. She had an amazing ability to remember dates, always making sure a card would be in the mail for the specific occasion. She was a good cook and loved hosting big Sunday dinners. DeDe had a soft spot for all animals, especially cats. She loved her coffee and donuts, and enjoyed collecting her refrigerator magnets.
DeDe is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Suzanne and James Hutton; three grandchildren, Leslie, Maggie, and Kyle Hutton; two cats, Boots and Black Kitty; and several nieces, special neighbors, and friends.
Visitation will be from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Wednesday January 13, 2010 in Herman H. Lohmeyer Funeral Home, 500 E. Walnut St., with prayer services starting at 6:30 p.m.
Funeral Mass will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday January 14, 2010 in St. Agnes Chapel.
