Harold Simpson, 79 of Springfield passed away Friday Sept. 14, 2012 in Cox South Hospital. Harold was born Nov. 19, 1932 in Thayer, Mo. to Cantrell (C.C.) and Anna Simpson. He was inducted into the U.S. Army and served in the Korean War. On moving to Springfield in the 1950s, Harold along with his father opened the first Honda Motorcycle Dealership in Springfield. He had a lifelong love of motorcycles and fishing.
He is survived by his two daughters, Cindy Tate and Terri Crawley both of Willard; eight grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
His practical jokes and lively sense of humor will be missed by all.
Graveside services with military honors will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday Sept. 19, 2012 in the Missouri Veterans Cemetery under the care of Herman H. Lohmeyer Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 6 pm to 8 pm Tuesday in the funeral home.
