Mr. Harold L. Sharp, 80, Springfield passed away at 12:18 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 23, 2006 in St. John's Hospital.
Harold was born Dec. 30, 1925 in Rock Island, Ill. to Loyd R. and Alma M. (Worboys) Sharp. Harold was a diesel mechanic for International Harvester for many years. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII. Harold was an avid Nascar fan with an Earnhardt obsession. He enjoyed watching wrestling, and bowling at Sherm Lollar Lanes.
Harold was preceded in death by his parents and his grandson Kyle Lenox. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Wanda; his five children, David Sharp and his wife, Becky of Bridge City, Texas, Linda Lenox of Springfield, Peggy Wall and her husband, Jerry of Springfield, Debbie Iseminger and her husband, Ron of Springfield, and Ginny McNabb and her husband, Gary of Willard; 14 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, his two brothers, Howard Sharp of Centerville, Iowa and Pete Sharp of Chillicothe and his sister, Garnet Klinginsmith of Camdenton; and many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, August 26, 2006 in Herman H. Lohmeyer Funeral Home 500 E. Walnut Street with Chaplain Ann Payette and Rev. Fred Royer officiating. Burial with military honors will follow in Rivermonte Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. today (Friday) in the funeral home.
