Harold "Butch" Gene Mason was born October 7, 1963. He passed away at 9:45 p.m. Friday, June 25, 2010, following a courageous battle with cancer. He graduated from Fair Grove High School in 1982. Butch worked as a truck driver and landscaper. He loved to fish and camp.
He was preceded in death by his father, Vance Mason, brother, Charles Mason and his sister, Joyce Shaul. Harold is survived by his mother, Willa Baier; his sisters, Laura Potter and her husband Donald, Cheryl Hill, Carolyn Mayhew, Mary Welch and her husband Brian, and Bethany Steves; his brother, Randy March and his wife Debby; his step-brother, Jim March; his step-sister, Judy Reeves; his best friend, Raymond Heiskill and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
His smiling face and positive attitude will truly be missed. His family and friends loved him very much.
The family would like to thank everyone for their continued prayers and support. We would also like to thank all the staff at Jordan Creek for their loving care. A special thank you to Butch's little friend, Radney who made him smile with his song that meant so much to him.
Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday June 29, 2010 in Herman H. Lohmeyer Chapel 500 E. Walnut Street with Pastor Dale Wells officiating. Private committal service will be Saturday July 3, 2010 in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.
