Gleama Etola Pearl Watkins born May 7, 1929 to Esther Hollis Walton and Goldie Mae Davis Walton in Bow Legs, Oklahoma went home to be with the Lord on February 6, 2015 in Bolivar, Mo, following a brief illness.
She married William Harvey Watkins March 24, 1950. Together they raised three children.
Gleama was preceded in death by her husband William, her parents and one sister Lenora Guy.
She is survived by two sisters Esther Bliss of Lomita, CA and Helan D'Ostroph of Stanley, NC and one brother Doyle Walton and wife of Ventura, CA.
Gleama is also survived by three children, Charles Watkins and wife Roberta of Lake Havasu City, AZ, two daughters, Iris Walton of Fair Play, Mo., and Susan Gray and husband James of Siloam Springs, AR.
Besides nieces and nephews she is survived by seven grandchildren and nine great grandchildren and one great great grandson.
Gleama was a wife and business partner, as well as being a homemaker and mother. She was an excellent seamstress, wonderful cook and very creative and artistic. In her later years she liked nothing better than giving beautiful manicures to friends and family.
Gleama was an avid dog lover and had a secret love for cats. She will be missed by Mia and Dutch her constant companions.
Gleama converted at an early age and had a strong faith in Jesus. Gleama had been looking forward to going home for some time.
Gleama was very generous, almost to a fault and she absolutely adored and loved her family.
To all of those who truly knew and loved her, SHE WAS A PISTOL.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, February 20, 2015, in Oak Hill Cemetery, Siloam Springs, Arkansas with Pastor Lyle Shaulis officiaitng.
