Geraldine E. Anselm, 84, Springfield, died at 12:01 a.m. Sunday, December 7, 2003 in St. John's Regional Health Center with her family at her side.
The daughter of William and Pauline Sander, she was born in Illmo, MO, on January 15, 1919. Jerry was united in marriage on June 17, 1939 to Joseph M. Anselm.
Jerry was a homemaker, and a longtime resident of Springfield as well as a member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church. She will be remembered by her family as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
Jerry was preceded in death by her parents, William and Pauline Sander, and two sisters, Eileen Springer, and Jean Eaton.
She is survived by her loving husband of 64 years, Mel; a son, Richard, Columbia, MO; two daughters, Carolyn Fetter and her husband Bruce, Rogersville, MO, and Mary Kay Markwardt, Springfield, MO; five grandchildren, Shane Anselm, Amy Davis and her husband, Paul, Shondra Collins and her husband, Jeff, Craig Fetter, and C.J. Markwardt; two great-grandchildren, Jordan and Chelsea Collins; a brother, Elroy Sander, and seven sisters, Lillian Little, Laverne Wolfe, Geneva Seyer, Wanda McCord, Betty Goodman, Marilyn Graham, and Jackie Metzger.
Funeral Mass will be at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, December 10, 2003 in St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church with Fr. Fergus Monaghan celebrant. Burial will follow in Missouri Veterans Cemetery under the care of Herman H. Lohmeyer Funeral Home 500 E. Walnut.
Visitation will be from 6 pm to 7 pm today (Tuesday) in the funeral home.
