George Emmett Kaiser, 77 of Springfield passed away at 1:14 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 31, 2006 in Cox Hospital South.
George was born Aug. 6, 1929 in Brooklyn, New York to Joseph and Helen (Janasko) Kaiser. He worked for General Motors for 30 years and Dillons Grocery Store at St. Louis and National for 15 years. He was a member of the United Auto Workers Union. George loved playing sports and was an avid Brooklyn Dodgers fan. He enjoyed eating with family and friends, had a great sense of humor and enjoyed making people laugh. He was a "buddy" to everyone he met.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Florence of the home; his six sons, George Kaiser, Jr., Robert Kaiser, Joseph Kaiser and John Kaiser all of Springfield, Daniel Kaiser of Citta'di Castello, Italy, Anthony Kaiser of San Diego, Calif.; 14 grandchildren, his brother, Joseph of Washington, Mo. his sister, Theresa of Brooklyn, New York; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
A funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 4, 2006 in Springfield Bible Church with Pastor Curt Zachary officiating. Burial will follow in Clear Creek Cemetery under the care of Herman H. Lohmeyer Funeral Home 500 E. Walnut St.
