George Christman

Mr. George J. Christman, 63 of Springfield passed away at 6:32 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 24, 2006 in St. John's Hospital.

George was born May 14, 1943 in Kansas City, Mo. He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Madeleine (Templeman) Christman and his son, T.J. He served in the U.S. Air Force Reserve and was a medical supply salesman for many years. George was the parish administrator for St. Elizabeth Catholic Church and also served on the City Council in Eureka Springs, Ark. He was a 4th degree member of the Knights of Columbus, a member of the Ancient Order of Hibernians and served on the Springfield Mayor's Commission on Human Rights.

He is survived by his wife, Sandy of the home; his three daughters and their spouses, Cathy and Roger Booton, and Laurie and Scott Birchfield, Betsy and Jeff Baker; and his six grandchildren, Amellia, Brianna, Josh, Cassie, Jack and Madeline.

Memorial Mass will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday November 4, 2006 in Holy Trinity Catholic Church with Fr. Fergus Monaghan celebrant under the care of Herman H. Lohmeyer Funeral Home, 500 E. Walnut.
