Gary George

Gary Dean “Rooster” George reunited with his Heavenly Father and Savior Jesus Christ on Friday, August 30, 2024. He was 64 years old. Married to the love of his life for over 45 years, he is survived by his wife, Julie (Kisielewski) George. Together, they raised three fiercely independent and beautiful children, who were his pride and joy. He is preceded in death by his eldest son, Gary Dean II, and his sister, Rhonda Renee. He is further survived by his children and grandchildren, Torrae, Alex, Ashley, Connie, Gary Dean III, Sage, Ariel, Phoenix, Jakob, and AJ. He will be missed by his large extended family and countless friends.

Gary joined the Army, where he met his soon-to-be bride, Julie. After his service to his country, and their journey through Missouri, they settled their roots in Springfield. He took pride in being a hard working over-the-road truck driver for many years (known as “Double Barrel”). He was a God loving man who found serenity through hunting and fishing, with an avid interest in beekeeping as well as a notorious love for gardening. He continued to find hobbies throughout his journey such as raising chickens and winemaking.

He was the life of the party who loved to laugh and spread his joy. While a man that is memorable for many things, always at the forefront was his ability to welcome everyone, ensuring there was a place for the misfits and the outcasts. It is with a heavy heart that his family and close friends share the details of his services which will be held on Saturday, September 14, 2024, at 12:00 pm at Manley Cemetery, Brookline MO 65619; followed by a celebration of life ceremony held at the family home of 32 years.

"I have been crucified with Christ; and it is no longer I that live, but Christ liveth in me: and that life which I now live in the flesh I live in faith, the faith which is in the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself up for me”. – Galatians 2:20
