Gail Smith

Gail Franklin Smith, 74 of Springfield passed away Thursday evening April 14, 2016 in Mercy Hospital.

Gail was born March 16, 1942 in Overland, Missouri to George and Opal (Carver) Smith. He served in the US Army from 1962 through 1965. Gail enjoyed fishing and hunting and was an avid Missouri Tigers and St. Louis Cardinal fan.

He is survived by his wife Jacqueline Smith, his three children Clayton George Smith (Debbie Mikkelson), Bradley John Smith, and Nathan James Smith (Jill); his four grandchildren, Taryn Elizabeth Smith, Alexa Marie Smith, Violet Smith and Lillian Quinn Smith; his sister Cecilia Smith; his stepchildren Erika A. Klingenberg (Mark), James L. Holdar (Judy) and Colleen R. Holdar (John).

Memorial services will begin at 11:30 a.m. Friday April 22, 2016 in Herman H. Lohmeyer Chapel with Msgr. Thomas Reidy officiating. Committal services with military honors will follow in the Missouri Veterans Cemetery.
