Fredrick Willhaus

Fredrick George Willhaus was born in Lyons, Kansas to Richard Willhaus and Katie Amelia Zwick Willhaus on August 31, 1943 and won a hard fought three year battle against cancer on April 12, 2020 when he was called home to meet his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ and received his wings.

He attended Pittsburg University where he received his Master’s in Industrial Technology.

Fred also proudly served in the United States Army as a 1st Lt. in Korea.

On September 17, 1976, Fred married Rosie Cromer. They have one Son, Shannon Willhaus.

Fred is proceeded in death by his parents, two Brothers, Harvey D. Willhaus, and an infant brother, Baby Boy Willhaus.

He is survived by his wife, of almost 44 years, Rosie Willhaus of Springfield, Missouri, his Son, Shannon Willhaus and wife Verna, of Ava, Missouri. Two Grandsons, Tyler and Derrick. His Brother, William Willhaus and wife, Ida May of Kansas City, Missouri. Two Sisters, Kathryn Lorenson of Salina, Kansas and Rose Jennings, of Holton, Kansas. Sister-In-Laws Marilyn Willhaus of Sterling, Kansas and Freda Wick and husband Gary, of Grand Junction, Colorado. Brother-in-Laws Roy Cromer and wife, Donna of Quincy, Missouri, JR Cromer and wife LaRue of Sedalia, Missouri. Along with numerous nieces and nephews and friends.

A Memorial Service including Full Military Honors will be held at 1:00 pm on Friday, August 28, 2020 at Herman H. Lohmeyer Funeral Home, 500 E. Walnut Street in Springfield, Missouri. A private interment will be at Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Springfield, Missouri.

In lieu of flowers the family request either a love offering to be used for the Memorial/Celebration of Life or a donation to the Honor Flight of the Ozarks in honor of Fred.
