Frank E. Wiles age 80, passed away peacefully Monday, May 23, 2011. He was born December 18, 1930 in St. Joseph, Missouri to Jack I. and Maude P. (Parker) Wiles.

He was preceded in death by both parents, brother Jack L. Wiles; sister Betty Strong; and daughter Mary Ann White.

A 1949 graduate of Republic High School and graduated SMS in Springfield in 1957.

He served his country in the Army during the Korean Conflict and spent 17 months in Korea.

Frank married Ann Magruder from Springfield in 1954 they had two daughters, Mary Ann and Jean Ellen. Springfield was their home prior to moving to Pleasant Hope in 1979. Frank was a past Cub Scout Leader at Sunshine School, a past Democrat Ward Committee man. He served as past Colonel to Governor Warren E. Hearnes. He was Greene County Recorder of Deeds for 3 years prior to starting his banking career in 1967 as a Missouri State Bank Examiner. From there he went to help start the Bank of Kimberling City served as Director and Vice President until 1974. He joined the Pleasant Hope Bank in 1974 as a director and eventually served as President until 1995 when the bank was sold. He started Community Bank of Pleasant Hope, a facility of Community Bank of the Ozarks, in 1996 and worked until his retirement in 2009.

Between 1989 and present, he was a stockholder in the First State Bank in St. Roberts, Mo. served as their chairman and director. He was a director for Missouri Independent bank (now Midwest Independent Bank) in Jefferson City, Mo. for over ten years and served as their chairman for one year. He served on the board for Midland Bank in Lee's Summit, Mo. was a member of the Missouri State Banking Board as well as chairman for a year under Governor Mel Carnahan. He and his colleagues purchased the Community Bank of the Ozarks in Sunrise Beach, MO. In 1989, and Frank served as director and chairman through 2009. He also served as a long time Director and President for the Missouri Independent Bankers Association. Frank was unanimously elected Director Emeritus at the December 16, 2009 MIBA Board of Directors meeting in Jefferson City. The Association's Director Emeritus is an honorary position accorded to a select few who have distinguished themselves by their work in behalf of the Community banking industry of our state and nation.

He is survived by his wife, Ann of 57 years; and daughter, Jean Ellen and husband Garry of Pleasant Hope; grandsons Chris White and his wife Marla of Kansas City and Michael White of Pleasant Hope; special son-in-law Steve White, Springfield; five sisters, Annie Medlin of Kansas City, June Bertholdi and husband Toby of Aurora, Joyce Smith and husband Don of Seattle, Ramona Brewer and husband Jim of Springfield, Jackie Walker and husband Tom of Valley Center, Ks.; and sister in law Phyllis Mann of Belton; his wonderful Dog and companion Mia.

Frank and Ann traveled to many places throughout there married life; he was an avid Cardinal fan and a lifetime member of the Elks Lodge 409 in Springfield. Frank loved to spend the weekends at his cabin on Table Rock Lake.

Not only will Frank be remembered as a loving husband, father, Paw-Paw, brother, Unc but to many he will be remembered as Banker friend, Life of the party, Sexiest Fat man in Polk County, King Franka and Mayor of Hyannis Port association, Table Rock Lake.

The family wants to give a special thank you to his sister Ramona and niece Susan and son-in law Steve for being there every day during this difficult time.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m Friday, May 27, 2011 in Herman H. Lohmeyer Funeral Home, Springfield. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m Thursday, May 26, 2011 in Herman H. Lohmeyer Funeral Home, Springfield.

Memorial donations may be made to the Mary Ann White Scholarship Fund C/O Community Foundation of The Ozarks 425 E. Trafficway Street Springfield, MO 65806 or the Pleasant Hope United Methodist Church.
