Mr. Frank Albert Horton, Jr., 88, Springfield passed away at 5 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 16, 2004 in Maranatha Lodge.
Frank was born Aug. 6, 1916 in Springfield, Mo. to Frank Albert & Florence (Brugger) Horton. He married Sheila Lancaster-Smith on Dec. 8, 1944 in Bath, England while serving in the Army Aircorp. He retired from Lily Tulip after 23 years.
Mr. Horton was preceded in death by his parents, two daughters, Peggy and Carol, a brotherand sister-in-law, Jack and Mary Horton, and a sister, Virginia LaScala.
He is survived by his wife Sheila; 4 children, Betty Horton, Kathleen Bargo and husband, Andy, Dianne Hutchins, and John Horton, all of Springfield; 8 grandchildren, Jason and Justin Hutchins, Clint, Lindsey and Amanda Bargo, and Deidra, Nick and Alisha Horton; a great grandson, Trent Smith; 5 brothers and their wives, Bill and Mary Horton, Richard and Clarabell Horton, Pat and Belle Horton, Carl and Judy Horton, Charles and Linda Horton; 3 sisters, Catherine Ferrell and husband Dorman, Barbara Francka and husband Bernard, and Mary Ann Horton and friend Virginia Mayeux, many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Memorial Mass will be at 9 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 20, 2004 in St. Joseph Catholic Church with Fr. Denis Dougherty, O.S.B. celebrant under the care of Herman H. Lohmeyer Funeral Home. Burial with military honors will follow in the Missouri Veterans Cemetery.
Prayer services will be at 6 pm Tuesday with visitation to follow until 7:30 pm all in the funeral home.
