Frances Nadine Pulliam, 87, of Springfield, passed away Friday afternoon, June 10, 2011, in St. John's Hospital, Springfield, Mo.

She was born on September 19,1923 in Hamilton, Missouri to William and Ruth (Innis) Rains.

She is preceded in death by both parents; her beloved husband of forty-two years, Harold D. Pulliam; and eight brothers and sisters.

She is survived by her nine children, Carolyn and husband, Donald Sundermeier; their daughter, Elizabeth Arnesan, husband, Steve and their three children, Alexis, Ben and Morgan, son Todd Sundermeier, his wife Danielle, and daughter Zoe all of Omaha, Neb.; Bob and his wife, Marti Pulliam of Omaha, Neb.; their sons, Robbie, his wife, Dawn and their two daughters, Brooke and Riley of Grey Summit, Mo., and Christopher Pulliam of Omaha, Neb.; Mary Gregory and husband, Butch, of Reeds Spring, Mo.; Rick Pulliam and Penny Wise of Kimberling City, Mo.; David Pulliam and wife, Lesa of Lampe, Mo.; John Pulliam and wife, Nancy of Reeds Spring, Mo.; his daughter, Natalie McNish and husband, Steve and their two sons, Davin and Avery of Rogersville, Mo.; Mark and Audra Pulliam, and their three sons, Jeffrey, Zachary, and Cody of Columbia, Mo.; Gregory Pulliam of Springfield, Mo.; Paul Pulliam and wife, Louie of Springfield, Mo., and his daughter Madison and her two sons, Hunter and Tucker of Lock Springs, Mo., Paul's children, Cami and Tony, of Almira, Arkansas and Landon of Higginsville, Missouri.

Fran grew up the last of nine children during the Depression. Her mother operated a soup kitchen and grew Victory gardens during WWII. Fran attended the Chillicothe Business School after graduating from Chillicothe High School. She married Harold D. Pulliam on Christmas Day in 1941. After the war, Fran was very involved in the ownership and operation of their business, Harold's Cafe in Chillicothe, Mo. for over thirty years. She devoted her life to giving the best she could to her children. Active in the Catholic Church for years, she insisted on a Catholic education for her children. "She has a patient soul and a knowing heart."

Services will be held and St. Columban Catholic Church, 1111 Trenton St. Chillicothe, Mo. 64601, with a burial to follow at the Catholic Cemetery in Chillicothe, Missouri.
